The Total Embracing Of The Internet - How Will It All End?

IMHO the WTBTS promoting the internet is like a double-edge sword, unless all free Wifi services/WTBTS software come with monitoring of where JWs visit on the internet. Without some type of monitoring, the WTBTS benefits from lower printing costs and the ability to quickly change its propaganda. With some type of monitoring, add that the WTBTS will be able to submit in a JC that a JW visited a forbidden website. I wonder if the WTBTS will name forbidden websites for JWs to avoid or just state that all websites are forbidden except for jw.org.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

In the JW land everything turns to the opposite in 10 years.

I bet will be a flip flop about the internet.

It will continue to erode their base, slowly but surely.

As mentioned, they want to cut costs by encouraging people to use tablets now. Money money money, that is their number one priority, for whatever reason - maybe we will find out in the next few years why they seem to be so cash poor after selling off a billion in property.

Telling people to go online is like sending them out into a field filled with landmines. Some will type jw.org into the search box instead of the browser box. Voila! A page full of apostate videos and sites right below theirs!!!

Many will click and read, slowly becoming undercover apostates. Its just a matter of whether they have the courage to physically leave.

Think how easy it will be for them to look up quotes during a talk or a study. Nothing but trouble. They will quickly limit the usage to one site.

I want to know when the JW's will start advertising their cult with banner ads, like the Mormons do.

What kind of monitoring can they do at KH's, when people use their WiFi? What types of privacy infringements can they sneak into their "terms of use?"

If they are smart, they are looking for ways to grant themselves access to view your internet usage, both at and away from the KH. I'm not sure what is legal, but I'm sure there are ways to track users somehow.

I think it's fantastic that they have suddenly stopped condemning the Internet and are trying to embrace it. It used to be that JWs could only get their litteratrash from the KH counter. Now they're encouraged to use the web. So instead of going to the KH litteratrash counter...

here comes a WT style illustration...

they have to go to a library completely controlled by satan's system, and have to walk past pornographic bookstores, prostitutes, every other church, apostates, atheists, and more pornography before they can get to The Watchtower.

    I find it, well, happifying.

We're talking about mostly elderly people with barely a high school education. They don't know how to erase their own browser history, let alone monitor the usage of others. I wouldn't be surprised if the elders and their kids are the most likely to find a way to use KH wifi to access porn.

I find it it strange how they come to fully embrace the internet but in the past were against it.

The Watchtower embracing the internet ? Excellent , it is the Achilles heel to eventually bring them down at best or at least make them more irrellevant .
