All of our days are "last days" ! The days ahead are just that days ahead, and the days behind are last days, "the last few days" we say it all the time. I'm looking forward to the last days , the days that preclude the days ahead when it will be pointless to have this discussion!

I don't know about earth and humanity being in their last days, however, unbeknownst to me, my hair dryer sure was living in them. It gave out this morning .
