Lol, just an off topic point I noticed in that magazine - Watching the world: Between 5 to 10 percent of long-term unemployed remove university degrees and professional experiences from their resumes because these make job applicants seem overqualified.

SOURCES : Is there evidence of thorough research ? is the story based on just one source ? Are the sources reliable, fair, and objective ? Are they balanced ?

or have they been selected to convey only one point of view ?

How To Do Research ( The Jehovah witness way )

Which of these research tools do you have ?

    1) New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

    2) Comprehensive concordance

    3) The Watchtower and Awake

    4) Reasoning from the Scriptures

    5) Jehovah's Witnesses___Proclaimers of God's Kingdom

    6) Insight on the Scriptures

    7) watchtower Publications Index

    8) Watchtower Library on CD-Rom_________Theocratic Ministry school Education Book page 33

All slanted material approved by the clowns in Brooklyn

    • While it is wise not to believe everything we read in the Watchtower and Awake, it does not necessarily follow that there is nothing we can trust; it's just highly likely there is nothing we can trust. The key may be to have a healthy skepticism, while keeping an open mind.
    • TONE: When the tone of an article is angry, spiteful, or highly critical, it suggests that an attack is under way and not a reasoned argument.
    • SOURCES: Is there evidence of thorough research? Is the story based on just one source? Are the sources reliable, fair, and objective? Are they balanced, or have they been selected to convey only one point of view?
    • TIMELINESS: Is the information recent enough to be acceptable? Watchtower magazines have an expiration date; something thought to be correct 20 years ago may be discounted today. On the other hand, if the writing staff is stumped, information from 30 years ago may be presented as new light..
    • PURPOSE: Ask yourself: ‘Is the article primarily to inform or influence opinion? Is it trying to gloss over past failures, or to engage in character asassination?’
    • SPIN: Even if facts are as solid as bricks, how they are presented depends on the intention of the writer. What facts should be included in an article, and which should be left out? A religion may say in print that they do not shun people who leave, but leave out statements made by representatives that encourage believers to shun those who no longer attend.

Who on earth do they think they are? Telling people HOW TO WATCH THE NEWS?

Do they think their followers are that dumb?

Man these guys LOVE control and power.

There are a number of child abuse cases lined up against the WT right now. It's reasonable to assume they expect more to come. I see this as damage control, preparing their readers for what they expect to be in the news in the near future.
