How do believers defend a god who is going to murder billions and pin it on them?

But why have a bible, you ask? Because MAN needs something to SEE. He is not so good at hearing, or walking by faith. He walks by sight... until he learns to walk by faith and HEAR the Spirit (if he does learn)
The bible is a witness pointing TO CHRIST... but it is not Christ, it is not the Life; it is not the TRUTH; it is not the IMAGE of God.

Yes and Jesus endorsed the law and the prophets and what they stated, and doesn't it stand to reason that an almighty could at least get his story straight between what he allowed to be written about him versus what he tells believers in their head?

And projecting forward anyone that says I don't want to worship god anymore and I just want to do what I please to do he will say to that one 'die!' New scrolls coming to a locality near you!Well, that depends upon what pleases you, doesn

Well, that depends upon what pleases you, doesn't it?

If it pleases you to show no mercy, to judge/condemn others, to harm others... well, that is the same measure that will be used against you. Man is judged by his own words/deeds.

If what pleases you is to show mercy, forgivness, love, compassion, etc... atheist or not... well, that is not a bad measure to be judged by, is it?

You mean like magic paper and ink?

Even that would not stop people from interpreting as they choose to intepret. Based on what they WANT to see or hear, based on what is in THEM. Then they mislead others; who listen to them instead of to Christ.

God is SPIRIT, as are we... so comminication from God (and Christ, who is THE Spirit) is done via the spirit.

But man 'hardens his heart' and listens to what he wants to hear (edited to add: or what he has been TAUGHT to hear by those who do not know... blind guides).

But those who belong to Christ hear his voice... even though they are sometimes waylaid and led astray by other voices temporarily... He still calls to them. He even sends people TO them, or sends them to people that might help them. What they do, however, is as always, up to them.

    Peace to you,

    God is SPIRIT

There is no such thing as spirit.

Wasting your time Cofty. She is an elderette and this is her congregation; this is likely the only thing in her life that gives her prestige and ego boost. Probably left JWs due to contentious personality conflicts with sisters and elders. Doesn't post to help others only to stroke her ego and try to address her insecurity and inferiority complex. Each time she posts she confirms my analysis.

Fearing that your parent, whether earthly or heavenly, will kill or torture you for anything, is unhealthy fear.

God is NOT our parent naturally. We are born as children of Adam, not God. Our natures want a God that we can control, a false God. We are his enemy. We, by nature would much rather choose religion (or an ideology) instead of the personage of an infinite God any day. This is what we all did as JW's and we ALL mocked those Christians that we met in field service that adocated a PERSONAL relationship with Christ Jesus.... as if such a thing were impossible for the mere average Joe.

The idea that we should fear a God that will murder us (we're already justly on death row) is insane, irrational, and totally phobic. Only the silliest of minds could entertain such a thought without realizing that we are all dying ANYWAY!!

Death is not to be feared. It is the judgment that occurs after a person has died that is to be feared. There is no escape from the judgment of an infinite God. There is simply no place to hide, even in death.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him

which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. - Jesus

And in so many words, Jesus was saying, "fear ME!", since per Christian theology, Jesus will be the one doing the pleading on your behalf to his Father begging to show mercy and undeserved grace?

How can anyone NOT see that as only a thinly-veiled death threat, but even WORSE than that, since he's threatening to condemn one's eternal soul to Hell?
