  A (presumably ex ) friend of mine put a lot of work into the designs for the new Bethel near Milton Keynes that was abruptly cancelled after 9/11. He was a bit annoyed about it as he had done a lot of unpaid work and no explanation was ever given. Rumour was that the GB had decided that Armaggeddon was imminent.

  As ever - the WTBTS business model is build with tax free (slave) labour - hold for a few years - sell. Rinse & repeat. Looking at the accounts , the properties might be worth close to £100 million.

  Blimey. What a liberty. ''Start saving'' followed by a request for free labour.

  Just goes to show Jehovah(TM) does naff all for them.....they have to beg, steal and borrow do more stealing all themselves.

  Where is the 'blessing(TM)' that their trademark god is supposed to give them that they have to scrounge and nick stuff?

  I almost fell off my chair when the first line was "start saving". Given the property values in that part of North London they would make millions from selling up. Anyone who donates to that effort is really casting pearls before swine.

  The other interesting thing about it was they said to make donations to the WWW fund. This of course is general so any money put in there can be used for anything.

  I think someone should start writing a version of the Private Eye "The Directors" strip....
