How many JWs are genuinely in "good standing"?

An interesting question arose from my earlier thread:

We all know that many JWs do stuff that would get them disfellowshipped, but never get caught. But how many JWs do you think there really are who have never kept any disfellowshipping "offense" secret?

Impossible to know! But put it another way: is there anyone here who never did anything "worthy" of disfellowshipping while inside the organisation?

Or roughly how many different disfellowshipping "sins" did you keep secret while a JW?

For me, without giving specifics, I think it must be about 8 different kinds of disfellowshipment-worthy "sins", most of them numerous times.

Interesting question. In my case I held beliefs in evolution for a couple for years before I was difellowshipped. One thing I am not is a hypocrite I just couldnt live the lie any longer, eventually the belief manifested itself in many ways. They turfed me and seperated me from my familly and extended familly on both sides.

Truth is a very dangerous thing to the witnesses. I would guess that maybe 10% of the dubs are the true ones who would'nt say shit if they had a mouthfull of it. The rest are just a bunch of frightened spies amongst thier own people.

I should add that I didn't commit any disfellowshipping offense while I still believed it was the truth (which was only five years in fact 1995 to 2000) but only since I discovered it was all bogus.

I think the majority, I'd estimate over 80%, of JWs "in good standing" between the ages of 16-25 are guilty of some form of "porneia" which if known would result in a committee.

I'd guess probably 50% or more of JWs of any age over 16 or so have gotten drunk enough at least once to justify a committee. I'd put the ratio of elders & ministerial servants in this category at over 75%.

If you go by the elders' manual definition of apostasy ("stubbornly holding to beliefs contrary to the teachings of JWs") I'd say again well over 50%.

I'd say the number of JWs who fully toe the line and never do anything worthy of a committee at less than 10%.

What about GB members?

They probably don't have enough time or privacy to get up to anything much, or am I being naive?

Actually didn't one of the GB go before a JC once, years before they were appointed. Who was that again?

When I was a teen the percent who hadn't committed some infringement of the rules 0%. I know we often hung out together. I do remember my mother being upset having to attend a wedding in a church. my dad insisted.

Another aspect of this question would be how long ago the infraction was committed. Elders who manage to keep their "sin" secret for at least 2 years are home free and can remain in their position. So they are genuinely in good standing according to the convoluted Dub rules. If the 2 year rule applies to the RandF then many could say they genuinely are in good standing as well. If the question becomes How many Jw's have done somthing that POSSIBLY could result in DFing? then IMHO close to 100%

"in good standing", from what I've seen, just means "puts in 8+ hours of service a month". so not many IMO.

None, until I became a closet apostate. I did touch a guy's wang one day and kiss him though, but the elders were like, "Meh." and then forgot about it.

As a JW, I believed holy spirit was removed from the congregatio for even an unknown sinner, based on the story of Achan, and that holy spirit always revealed such once. Once I started trying to test if holy spirit guided the organisation, and revealed wrongdoing, I experimented with most "sins", just to see if I would get caught. That went on for 10 years, and never once was I ever caught.

I was shocked over time at how many of the most self-righteous ones with privileges were regularly engaging in "uncleanness." I am aware of elders to this day that never confessed to fornication.
