I would be very surprised if they don't track IP addresses as part of the log in process. If a password gets leaked and a range of IP addresses log in, particularly if it is from different countries, they would be quick to lock down the account. It would be very amateur of them not to have such security in place.

You'll be lucky to get a password volunteered, it's not just read access!

Would someone trying to get access not use something like the Tor Network ?

I believe getting the passwords an elder was assigned would only yield access to letters to the bodies of elders, public talk outlines, blank forms, etc. This is all avaliable online anyway and is leaked by Atlantis and others pretty fast.

WHen I try to log in to my bank account from a computer or other device I don't normally use, I am required to verify my identity. Obviously the bank keeps track of this sort of thing (through IP addresses or other identifiers?).

It would certainly make sense for Watchtower Corp to track this kind of info.
