This is one area (there are others) were the churches have it all over the jws - they have programs for kids, child care, etc. Witness children, meanwhile, have to sit through meetings obviously geared toward adults.

Like the name of the film, Any Given Sunday, go out to the lobby during the middle of the WT Study, and you'll find a handful of brothers shooting the breeze. Funny how they want kids to sit down and shut up during the meeting, but a good percentage of adults, especially elders can't be bothered to sit still for the entire meeting. Especially if the KH has lobby doors that prevent sound from the lobby to enter the auditorium when closed.

Jam, You are so correct, it is sick to beat kids for being normal! I remember an incident at one convention vividly. The venue used at the time was large and had no air conditioning. (The Silverdome in Pontiac, MI). It was hot as heck in there,everyone was hot and tired, and one Mom came into the restroom with a small child, maybe 3 or 4 years old, took her into a stall and beat the tar out of her, yelling at her for not sitting still and being quiet. The kid was sobbing and pleading with her to stop, saying she was sorry and she'd be good. Everyone just sat there and did/said nothing, including myself. I was livid, but I was pretty new, and was unsure if I should step in. Of course I should have! It breaks my heart to this day that I did nothing! I should have stopped it. Could have offered to sit with the child for a while so the Mom could have a break. So glad my eyes were opened, and I am out of that religion.

Yes, beating the demons out of her so she will sit still. It's a wonder why more of the kids that grew up on this aren't on clock towers shooting at people

I think that's a HUGE part of my inability to focus. Even while watching a movie, I have to get up and clean or crochet, or something other than just watch a damn movie. I would zone out and start imagining doing other things or have little pretend conversations with friends in my head, like playing situations out. I would doodle all over my notes. It is ridiculous. I literally can't focus. Even right now, I'm eating lunch and watching Looney Tunes with my kids. Lol. And then, during a meeting/assembly/convention, if a child does make a noise, everyone gives dirty looks to the parents and makes them feel so uneasy. We only made it to a handful of meetings and one convention when our first child was born. It was uncomfortable! I had a newborn who wanted to nurse. God forbid anyone make it encouraging for a new mother, no I had to go in the nursing room in the dark. If we had to get up, everyone would watch us walk back, no matter where we sat. I guess it's discouraged to have kids anyways, in these "last days". I remember my grandma telling me how her mother was shunned and look down upon for getting pregnant in the 1930's. So sad.

Maybe we should all go to the assemblies and if we see a parent abuse there child call 911 right there at the stadium. If the police would get enough call I wonder, how would that make Jehovah look?

Its child abuse.
I regret every second of my childhood that I spent being made to sit quiet at meetings. I am going to write to my JW parents soon and this is one of the points I intend to make.
