Thanks for posting Gayle. I hope that Rick Simon will defeat the WTBTS's appeal and that the increased notoriety will encourage other JW vicims to seek legal restitution from the WTBTS.

Band on the Run
I have posted before that Rick Simons strikes me as a good lawyer. Yet legion are the number of other lawyers who could have litigated this case. To say he is a "best lawyer" is meaningless without stating the organization that conferred the honor and its method/s of selection. Make no mistake -- he is good, perhaps great. He is not worthy of worship.
Facts are all important in law. The Conti case details were made in personal injury plaintiffs' lawyers heaven. The chances of a similar case appearing are remote. So I hope Candice gets a huge amount of cash. Simons himself said on YouTube that Conti presented an ideal case. He is actively seeking other similar cases. The elders and the WT had actual notice that can be proven in court. Further, the judge held that certain neutral laws applied in a manner favorable to Conti.
Conti is a perfect storm. She should receive perfect storm compensation.
Simons has no arrogant airs and clearly does not worship himself--what I saw and noted on YouTube.
