it could be any number of crazies ,,, from domestic terrorists (militia, anti-antiabortion groups) to isolated fundies (Xtiian, isolated cults, etc.)
or just some disenfranchised person who has been pushed past her/ his limits.

Bomb sniffing dogs on the scene at the time of the explosion.
University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.
“They kept making announcements on the loud speaker that it was just a drill and there was nothing to worry about,” Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15. “It seemed like there was some sort of threat, but they kept telling us it was just a drill.”
Stevenson had just finished the marathon. His wife had been sitting in one of the seating sections where an explosion went off, but thankfully she left her seat and was walking to meet up with him.
“There was just smoke, another explosion went off,” Stevenson said. “We all started running. There were people crying.”
Stevenson said there was no question in his mind that this was an intentional act.
One would think this story would be under "News & World Events" rather than "Politics", but semantics aside, son of a beast. Sounds like this was part of a considerable plan, if multiple bombs were around. No reason to assume anything about anyone until more details come in. All we can do is hope the loss of life was minimal, as if that can even matter, since one life is too many to be lost at the whims of terrorists.
Well...I'll just wait for more data on this and shut up now. I wonder if the suspects are still out there? I hope those who are badly injured will be able to make as full a recovery as possible.

My bad. I put it under "Politics and Current Affairs" - didn't see the "News and World Events" category. Maybe a mod could fix that?
I am not seeing substantiation yet for the claim of "12 dead" or "suspect under guard."
Looks more like homegrown act of terror to me. Or if from foreign ground, I would expect some irish issue or so, not from islamic fundies. But my guess is as good as yours. Sad and tragic for the people involved.
