2016 yrs. divided by 42 gen. =48 years per generation

Yeah but even this doesn't make any sense. A generation is not 48 years. In fact a generation is not any specific amount of time. It's simply ONE group of people that are born around the same time.

When Jesus gave his prophecy in Matt.24 :34 "this generation will by no means pass away untill all these things occur." he was no older than 33 years right ? This prophecy occured in the year 70 AD., well within the 50 year timeslot for a generation as outlined in Gods word the Bible .

True. This is the best point you make IMO.

I bump this thread for the many newbies and lurkers who have visited this site with regards to a ballpark figure for the Biblical years of a generation.

Good point, a reasonable generation is around 40 or 50 years.

And the idea that a “generation” can last longer than a human lifespan (as we are currently stretching the limits from 1914) is just insane.

I don’t know who is more nuts, Splane for coming up with it, or the other crackers for going along with it,

Bump for all of the newbies here to think about

S3: food for thought: Jesus taught a 'pass away generation'.but

In 1918 wt writers introduced the "will never pass away, never die " generation, millions in number. but

then they switched to 'anointed' generation, which has to pass away, to die, to go to heaven. But

the wait is too long, so they added the anointed overlap with >100 year old "group" members overlapping in succession. Even then they get it wrong, because as you quoted:

"--not pass away until all these things occur" but the wt anointed will pass away, right away, -- before the Great Tribulation hits hard. (you cant be in heaven fighting while also still being axed on earth),

wt generation doctrine has so many flaws, the 14 -50 years is only one of their problems.

Holy shit! Does that mean the wt's "overlapping generations" new light teaching is possibly a pile of bullshit? OMG!

    just saying!

"We may have spotted a parallel universe going backwards in time"

and wtBtS inc comes close to inhabiting that alternative universe:

Generic generation is 14-50 years long, wtBtS inc's is a geriatric: two 100 year old seniors with a 40 year overlap = 160 years long.

In wt, people that want to die take the Eucharist (emblems), people that do not want to die (Other Sheep) reject the wine and bread offered.

Jesus fed the wine and bread to Other Sheep, non anointed, wt does not, allows only the anointed like Jesus, (the non-partaker) to partake.

Jesus said the last generation will pass away after the end, wt says generation will pass away before the end event, the GT even starts,
Jesus said generation will pass away, wt says millions of the last generation will never die. wt still teaches that!!, first heard in the book of Genesis. backward in time,

wt land, an upside down universe, 'changing time and seasons".
