Heres the real quote from this weeks book study

"Real joy and satisfaction in life are unattainable if we live independently of our Creator"

    Jeremiah book chap. 6 p. 80 par. 24

In cult code don't they really mean Watchtower and not "creator"

Heck, yeah, that's what they mean. They're God's channel, after all.

So no Atheist on earth enjoys a life of real joy and satisfaction ? Proof for that please WT ?

An assertion of WT-Truth loaded with doublespeak, comparable to saying "You will only be happy when you worship us".

You can get the true message from WT literature if you substitute every occurence of:

-- "Jehovah" (or equivalent) with "The governing body" or "we" or "us"

-- "we" or "us" with "you"

Thus the real message in the above sentence is "Real joy and satisfaction in life are unattainable if you live independently of us."

Try it on any WT quotes - it's amazing how much it clarifies the true message.

For example, something like "Jehovah gives us reminders in his word - would we not be foolish to ignore them?" becomes "The governing body gives you reminders in our words - would you not be foolish to ignore them?"

I think the OP makes a great point.

Often, the WT says one thing, but because of all the indoctrination, JWs understand it with all the unspoken connotations.

It's hard for outsiders to communicate with JWs because there are so many of the inside code words and phrases.

    For example, to a JW:

    "Christian" = JW only

"Obey your creator" = Obey the GB

"Truth" = Whatever the GB is currently teaching

The list goes on and on.

Blondie cites a lot of these in each of her "Comments You Will Not Hear at the Watchtower Study" threads.

I agree. The disconnect is so strong that they don't even realize what they are doing. They even argue against themselves

Nice. I would love to give a subtly sarcastic answer to this paragraph. Something like, "This paragraph really makes the point clear: You simply cannot be happy without living in accord with the Bible. As as we know, most people in the world, even religious ones, just haven't embraced the truth about the Bible and so they're not living in harmony with God's will. So really, none of them are happy! Seven billion unhappy people. It's incredible to think about! Sure, we meet people in the ministry who say they're happy, and they can be very convincing, you know, smiling as they say it... but we know they're not!"
