    I agree on sending flowers and a card. A person in the family passed away so it's the human thing to do. To show up and participate as the target, in the JW game of bashing the apostate relative. I'll say pass.......wha happened.

    I'd be inclined to agree with this.

    Ain't nobody's business but your own. I wouldn't go, either. In fact, I decided long ago after my mother's funeral, I wasn't doing the JW thing ever again.

    Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the responses. The woman who passed away is a distant relative, a side of the family I don't keep up with. My mother knows the parents (her cousin and cousin's husband) because she grew up around those folks. The jw thing just adds to the stupidity. The elder officiated at my grandmother's memorial last year and afterwards was rude to me only because of his imagined status. I'm sorry for their loss but I don't need or have to be there. If my mother doesn't go I'm sure she'll send a card.
