and why do most of them believe this? because it is programmed in the ethos. not because they are some avid spiritualists or some shit. ie. take it out of the ethos and you have a very different chemistry to society, very different. i was amazed to learn how many people (all walks of life) believe they are going to heaven when they were pressed on the matter.

Sorry, i'm a little slow at seeing where people come from, in their comments.

Btw, now your writing is going downhill:

'and why do most of them believe this? because it is programmed in the ethos. not because they are some avid spiritualists or some shit. ie. take it out of the ethos and you have a very different chemistry to society, very different. i was amazed to learn how many people (all walks of life) believe they are going to heaven when they were pressed on the matter.'

    Not that it matters, ordinarily.

It's interesting that as the old religions and stories become more and more worn out (there's too much understanding of history and science to belief for most thinking people), there are new ideas of God/creation emerging that marry science and religion. Things like energy fields and quantum physics. I don't understand much about it but it seems many people (including scientists) aren't giving up on the idea of an afterlife just yet.

given a new generation of people, developing from birth, with nothing to believe in, what does that look like.....does it become some sort of nazi-esque society

    What a very odd suggestion!

The vast majority of inhabitants of some of the Scandanavian countries do not beleive in a god or the supernatural. It is as far removed from National Socialism as it would be possible to imagine.

I can see how a loss of belief in the after-life can be difficult for adults but raising children without superntaural beliefs is very positive and healthy.

Every time somebody uses the word "quantum" in connection with metaphysics you can be certain they are guessing.

Deepak Chopra has a lot to answer for.

the 80% generally do not use critical thinking with regard to religion, nor are they the people calling the shots. so, the stage is set for a very clear end game.

    Dead people don't go anywhere.

That's what the word 'dead' means.

you may not realize how many people actually believe in god and believe they are going to an afterlife, not sure if this is breaking news but it is over 80% of the entire american population.

What a frightening statistic. Almost as bad as over 40% of Americans who believe in a young Earth. So much stupidity and ignorance!
