Well that should be of no surprise as the Governing Body nature is to not meet deadlines and making excusses for delays. Just look at the dates they has given for armegeddon and the ability to make excusses when it don't come on the time they said it would. The Governing Body are procrastinators always stalling for time and late arrivals.
So why would Team Conti agree to give them more time?
Or is it just standard to allow these things if one party asks?
Actually I think it good that they be given reasonable extentions to see what they come up with I'm sure that it will even be more damaging to them in the end if they lose on every appeal allowed, as all loop holes will be tried thus making other cases pending more likely to be successful based on a past record of appeals that were lost.
The extensions are for the lawyers, not the Watchtower. It's likely that they were too busy on other matters to complete this on time. It is "professional courtesy" common in the legal field to grant such an extension.

That, and the longer the WTS lawyers can keep those funds in the WTS bank account they make more money. Also the longer the WTS lawyers drag it out, the WTS can pay the judgement out of the contributions to the WTS pedophile defense fund.
I am going to mail a check for $27 Million to Watchtower @ 25 Columbia Heights, but will "earmark" the check 'For Candace Conti Only.'
Good Idea OTWO
I'm going to do the same.

Really? Like, they've got higher priorities than working on a case in which (A) millions of dollars are to be paid out, and (B) if they lose their appeal, dozens if not hundreds of similar cases will be brought against them?
It seems like good old fashioned foot-dragging to me.
Good point Pterist!
