Huibers, a Christian, used books 6-9 of Genesis as his inspiration, following the instructions God gives Noah down to the last cubit. Translating to modern measurements, Huibers came up with a vessel that works out to a whopping 427 feet (130 meters) long, 95 feet (29 meters) across and 75 feet (23 meters) high. (...)

    Story here.

Let me get this straight - he's created this massive structure using only materials and methods available in the Bronze Age. And it holds together and even floats. And it'll ride a few waves now and again when the flood gets a little bit scary. Right, okay then. But here's the big miracle - he has presumably got public liability insurace so that he can allow visitors on board. All without any hint of any modern construction techniques. Wow!

No one is sure how long the cubit was. Looks like he used the smaller of what many consider to be a cubit. The ARK was likely much larger.

Notwithstanding, this should put the naysayers to bed with their taunts that it is impossible to build an ARK that actually floats like the one described in the bible.

And to get it to other countries it is not seaworthy - hence the need to transport it on a larger vessel.

Wooden ships were not built to this size because they break up in the waves.

Hence the iron struts in Brunels first huge ships.

This no more proves that an ancient Noah could have built and floated a full-sized ark than the U.S.N. Nautilus proves that the ancient Romans could have had submarines.

there was no ark of that size. Wood can't take it.

Yep, it would definitely float as 70,000 separate pieces of wood after the first 4 foot wave...

Or the first time an elephant shifted from one side to the other...

To allow a restaurant and a cinema on board it would have had to pass stringent health and safety laws especially considering it's (allegedly) floating. I'm sure a quick look about would show steel supports etc. Plus there are no pictures of what is below the waterline, I'm guessing a hull that he built this on because he is not even a shipwright just a builder. The authorities would have had him for breakfast. Just another tacky tourist trap polluting the view of an otherwise pretty place.

My bet is on the Architect of the universe.... that he could design a a wooden chest that can float in the sea.

New Scientist has a list of the top ten things that were once thought to be an impossibility.

    1. Analysing Stars

    2. Meteors Come From Outer Space

    3. Heavier Than Air Flight

    4. Space Flight

    5. Harnessing Nuclear Energy

    6. Warm Superconductors

    7. Black Holes

    8. Creating Force Fields

    9. Invisibility

    10. Teleportation

If Man can confirm and do all these things, what arrogance is it to assume that the Creator couldn't design a floating wooden box?
