"Most important, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things."
It seems that starting in 2013 the WT publishing racket is not promising anything to the population of the world, so let's see how many will stop going to the KH now-

The reasoned that they'd better stop saying it before they get sued for making false claims. Plus, they obviously no longer believe in it themelves. They know it's only a matter of time before the secret's out, so if they don't talk about it, maybe the rank and file will forget it was ever said.

    Some hope!

With the Awake being only 16 pages now they probably did not have room for that headmast.

So does this mean that the WTS still mails out some magazines? Are all magazines printed in Canada?

How should personal copies of The Watchtower and Awake! be obtained?

Since the subscription arrangement for both the printed and audiocassette editions of The Watchtower and Awake! in all languages was discontinued some time ago, all publishers should obtain their magazines, audiocassettes, and MP3 CD’s through the local congregation. The exception would be Braille magazines and audiocassettes that are mailed as free matter for those who qualify. Please note that congregations may request magazines on audiocassette or MP3 CD’s on a Congregation Requests (M-202) form. Foreign-language and large-print editions should likewise be requested using this form.

If someone in your territory requests regular magazine delivery, please be sure to follow through promptly so that not even one issue is missed. Disfellowshipped persons may obtain the magazines or other literature for their personal use at the magazine and literature counter at the Kingdom Hall. Disfellowshipped persons should not be included on a personal magazine route.

The only subscriptions that the United States branch will maintain on file are for those who cannot be served by a congregation publisher through a magazine route. If the Congregation Service Committee submits a request for subscriptions for someone who cannot otherwise obtain them, the secretary should include a brief note verifying that this subscription request has been reviewed and approved by the Congregation Service Committee.

This means that publishers should not write to the branch office to request personal subscriptions. Any such requests for subscriptions made by publishers or by interested persons will be referred back to the congregation.

How can a prison inmate obtain personal copies of the magazines?

If the congregation caring for the preaching work at a penal institution can supply the magazines to inmates confined there, then an inmate should obtain his personal copies of the Watchtower and Awake! magazines through the visiting publishers. When this is not possible, the inmate may personally request subscriptions by writing to the branch office. Please note that disfellowshipped inmates may likewise obtain personal copies of the magazines as outlined in this paragraph.

    *** w10 6/15 p. 3 United in Love—Annual Meeting Report ***

Visiting Branch Committee members gave reports from five branches. Kenneth Little noted that Canada will soon begin printing most of the magazines for the United States and Canada, resulting in a tenfold increase in production for that branch. For this to be accomplished, a newly acquired printing press will run on double shifts, totaling 16 hours a day.

The concept of new light allows the WT to make any change they want without alarming their members...and regardless of how much you tell JWs they are being lied to they just don't want to look at the evidence or even less see it in print. In their eyes the WT can't do anything wrong because they are directed by God who is progressively revealing his truth to them. The reduction in the number of pages of "life-saving spiritual food" or having one less meeting night should be starting alarm bells especially when the organisation says we are very close to the end...think about it, should we not have MORE support as this day draws near?

The reasoned that they'd better stop saying it before they get sued for making false claims.

Actually the WTS. cant be sued upon what it says Chariklo because the WTS. is legally established as a religion and

registered as a non-profit chartable organization.

Being that is the case a religion can put anything into print and the organization can not be held libel for what it prints.

The public editions of both the WT and AW have become so bland (and I have not even seen the reduced ones yet) that they might have come from almost any of the smaller religions . What is the point?

  • wha happened?
    wha happened?

I see it heading to a tract. I think it will be tract work in the future. Mags are for studies and pubs eventually. Books available only through the cong. Just more downsizing

Thanks for that Splash. I'm going to ask my wife what she thinks it means... I love just using their own publications!

I will ask with sort of a: I'm confused, could you explain this to me? loo. And then ask: what's going on?

It's a moot point, though, isn't it, Finkelstein, since it's widely known that it's a publishing company.

Correction. It's a publishing company with lots and lots of extra little offshoots masquerading as local religious bodies.

Much like a mushroom spreads by spores and fruiting bodies.
