One of my daughters college professors happens to be gay
all the students we know of on capmpus are fond of him , just a great personality
all away round. It would break my heart to see anyone mistreat or harm such a good guy

and to love my nieghbor and show kindness even
if our opinions on things differ

Its refreshing to see many had no malice for homosexuals even as JWs. Im starting to think women in general (religious or not) are more open mind to homosexuals and men in general get all butt hurt (mad) about the idea of two men banging each other lol. I had a half brother (homosexual) who i didn't meet until 6yrs old and he was on his deathbed from AIDS. I always wanted a brother (i have 2 half sisters) and lost the one I had like that. After visiting him my sister would tease me about having d a gay brother and I guess thats where my hatred from homosexuals came from. But yea crazy! I forgot my hatred for apostates. I actually saw then as demons in human flesh lol. Other than hatred for JW religion, much more love now!
Many closeted gays are very homophobic. ;)
My lesbian colleague was like this. Her family is Catholic. She is now an advocate for LGBT rights. And a very passionate person with a big heart. I really like her. I asked her one day "Where does hatred for gays come from?" She looked at me and said "From religion." I told her I agreed.

I never hated gays as a believer (never did quite get to baptism as a jw/home studied for two years)... and I still don't hate gays as a believer ;)
The WTS teaches a lot of hate. So do some other religions (WBB springs most to mind).
Christ... not so much.

That was a very loving message u sent me. That experience really messed me up for decades. I have only recently been able to mourn the lost of my brother until recently because I hated him for dying/being gay/making me a joke for so long. But now I can say I Love my brother and Homosexuals and am proud to proclaim it. I will march for ur cause! I watch RuPaul Drag Race with my wife and am proud to say it lol! My wife and contempt for the bible heled me no longer be a ignorant bigot. If anyone believes in the bible there is no way around it, God is an ignorant bigot who HATES GAYS and wants to kill em.I just wanted to say im sorry for all the homosexuals I offended over the years and I love ur community! Well now, I hjave to disagree with you about god being a bigot - there are many more 'gods' than the christian god you are probably accustomed to. Remember that jobie nitwits have the most distorted and sick view of god anywhere. ;)
"Jehovah", yes, an ignorant bigot but in the end he is just a boogie'man. If he was real I'd rather be dead than live in that hell, er, um 'paradise'.
Most dont realize if Jehovah was real then that paradise he would usher in would be hell for all! No internet (no jehovahwitness.net), no blockbuster movies to watch, no ps3 or xbox 360, NO FAMILY GUY, no porn, no six flags, reality tv, TV, etc. U can pet the lion and tiger for so long until that would get boring.
I used to hate gays when I was a JW too. That was until I realized I was gay also. As a regular pioneer I actually used to spout the Governing Body's lies about how God disapproved of gays and how they were similar to alcoholics and could change. The fact that I could be gay and be anti-gay at the same time just proves how effective the JW's mind control techniques can be. Now I'm no longer a Witness, I'm proud to be gay and have a clearer understanding of scripture than the GB does. I'm also more accepting and welcoming of all peoples, unlike I was as a JW.
