So both cause illiteracy on purpose!

JWs discourage 'higher education'. But it's a bit of a stretch to say they 'cause illiteracy' by reading JW publications.

Clarity, many hate talk of world conspiracies because it threatens their faith in the system. And venturing down the road of a conspiratorial world view puts them in the all-too uncomfortable state of cognitive dissonance. It's easier to keep drinking the Kool Aid instead! There problem isn't that they haven't been given the right information to convince them; their problem is their spiritual state, their philosophy on life and the world. They simply have no idea how the world really works.

Clarity, have you actually read the full text of United Nations Agenda 21? The video you linked is blatant propaganda and fear mongering at its finest. In fact that video should serve as an introduction into how to identify logical fallacies. It's certainly entertaining and provocative, I'll give it that.

Sustainability and overpopulation are very important topics that will need to be addressed in the future. Ignoring these issues won't make them go away.

Here is a link to the actual text of Agenda 21.

    http://www.un.org/esa/dsd/agenda21/res_agenda21_00.shtml

This is a brief section of the proposal; tell me if this sounds anti-education to you.

36.3. "Education, including formal education, public awareness and training should be recognized as a process by which human beings and societies can reach their fullest potential. Education is critical for promoting sustainable development and improving the capacity of the people to address environment and development issues. While basic education provides the underpinning for any environmental and development education, the latter needs to be incorporated as an essential part of learning. Both formal and non-formal education are indispensable to changing people's attitudes so that they have the capacity to assess and address their sustainable development concerns. It is also critical for achieving environmental and ethical awareness, values and attitudes, skills and behaviour consistent with sustainable development and for effective public participation in decision-making. To be effective, environment and development education should deal with the dynamics of both the physical/biological and socio-economic environment and human (which may include spiritual) development, should be integrated in all disciplines, and should employ formal and non-formal methods and effective means of communication".

From a cursory read I see many good ideas and suggestions contained with-in the proposal. Can you specifically point to a part of the actual text of Agenda 21 that you disagree with? I would love to have a rational discussion about the merits or drawbacks of the ideas put forth in the UN's proposal. Where does Agenda 21 specifically state a plan to keep people uneducated?

I'm certainly not an expert on UN Agenda 21 and look forward to having an intelligent conversation with you about it. Please don't cite the video as "evidence" to support a NWO conspiracy; let's not waste each other's time with questionable sources and out of context quotes.

I realize that you're referring to a worldwide conspiracy, but in the US the historical trend is that education levels are rising.

Thanks 'NoStonecutters' for once again aptly demonstrating some of the points I've previously outlined.

    • They imply that people who deny whatever conspiracy they're touting are otherwise completely trusting of governments/corporations/media
    • Denying 'the' conspiracy is seen as being naive about the existence of any form of conspiracy, manipulation or propaganda

Yes, it is funny stuff. It reminds me of various times where JWs have 'compared' JW magazines with 'worldly' magazines, saying how much better value the JW ones are (especially when they had a specific marked price). The fact that 'worldly' magazines generally have many more (and larger) pages is quietly ignored.

Reading New Scientist (or even Reader's Digest) would give a much better education than anything the WTS has ever produced.

Maybe just listen to the vid again from about 5:20...not just a bad idea,
    but illiteracy on purpose!

Can you provide something from a reliable source? Can you provide anything to establish any reliability of the source already provided?

The stated aims of the UN are not merely different but diametrically opposed to the claims made by the conspiracy nutters.

Jeffro, I cannot believe you keep rehashing that tired old pseudo-skeptical proving-a-negative circular reasoning.

Resistance is Futile, fascism has an environmental facade that you have bought hook-line-and-sinker. The technocracy, eco-fascism, was planned as far back as at least the 1930s, long before any of the environmental alarmism that is being shoved down our throats 24/7 today. For those who were following the documents, they knew this was coming. The "smart" grid and the whole environmental movement is a ruse and a pretext for world government and land grabbing. An example of the hypocrisy of this phony green movement is its founder, Maurice Strong. This clown started the eco movement, yet he was the CEO of Petro-Canada, Canada's Crown petroleum producer.

Watch the following video and educate yourself before you drag others into your ignorance.
