Maybe its because I live in an area with very low unemployment, but barring extreme negligence on the fiscal cliff thats coming up in a few weeks, I can only see the economy getting better.

I have my own economic indicators that have nothing to do with politics... it has been a fairly accurate method for 20 years. I can't explain it, it just is. You'll have to take my word for it.
But my indicators show that the economy will improve at a very good rate and will continue to do so for the next few months, maybe year. After that, my crystal ball gets hazy...

The U.S. government is over sixteen something trillion dollars in debt. How could the economy change for the better? There's no way to pay back that kind of money. It's going to get to the point where our money is worth nothing.

maybe we should classify what is meant by 'economy'. the world economy? The federal deficit? local economy?
I think of economy as in increase in jobs; freeing up of money to be lended for small businesses; businesses, both large and small, expanding and building; and the average joe enjoying some prosperity. Not rich, mind you, but enough to upgrade a home or vehicle, save for college funds, take a nice vacation, etc.
Using my criteria, I see improvement. That's good for the working class. No, it doesn't fix things in Greece or where ever and the deficit continues to be a problem. But if things are improving on the levels I see, then it's good for me and my immediate future. Therefore I see an improving economy.

Haven't posted in a while but I had to today on this subject. Today is one of the saddest days for my country, I think we will live through. I firmly think that the man has a strong socialist mindset. He seems to feel that our ways of capitalism are what has destroyed the world. Therefore he will do all he can to destroy what we have, borrow more money to put us in total debt, thus lowering the standard of life for all. He will continue to bring down the military and lower our nuclear weapons stockpiles. Making us weak in the world. And he will do all he can to get our guns. I am afraid of civil uprisings . I could go on but I am too depressed today to think clearly.
