Oh, I love those ex-Mormon sites!
One of the funniest comments I've EVER read, came from an on-board conversation between two ex-Mormons... They were discussing how weird Mormonism is, and one of them commented, "And the [ex]Jehovah's Witnesses think that THEY were in a weird cult!!"

I believe the culture is very similar. I knew an ex Mormon, she was a born in, but knew at an early age it was not for her. At 16, she got a job, had a friends mom help her rent an apartment, and just moved out on her own. Tough girl, she didn't want to get married at 18 and pump out a bunch of babies like all her sisters. Her mom would not even speak to her, but sent the elders around (this was years later) . Her roommate told them she was turning tricks down on Colfax (known prostitution area) I had a good laugh about that, she was actually a flight attendent.
