You are lucky that you picked an elder who basically doesn't care. Some self righteous ones would and would convene a JC in a heartbeat.
We had a not dis-similar occasion in our hall - a JW had stopped going to meetings , was living with a "worldly" girlfriend & was openly attending a local church. Basically none of the elders wanted to know even though it was widely known. It was only when a sister complained to the CO that we were forced to send a couple of elders to interview him. He just blanked all their questions & nothing was done.
Many elders are so busy trying to keep on the WTBTS treadmill that unless you actually start waving placards at the Kingdom Hall entrance on a Sunday morning they won't bother taking action that they know would require several evenings of meetings & investigations. And apostate investigations & JCs are messy & unpleasant. They are far more in their comfort zone investigating the usual fornication / adultery stuff ( or porn , which seems to be a major WTBTS obsession at the moment. )
