Question about confession and the two witness rule

    Yep. My confession led to my JC. I wasn't DF'd, but that was an option on the table. O---who am I kidding---My confessions led to TWO JC's. Somehow was not DF'd. There were no other witnesses, as it involved a 'worldly' person.

    It goes to show that the two witness rule is not perfect, and is a good guideline, but nothing more. The stubborn adherence to it by the Governing Body in regards to child abuse has been legalistic and shortsighted. It is good they are finally paying for their lack of humanity.

    The only reason I confessed to having committed adultery - heck, the only reason I COMMITTED "adultery" - was to get the heck out of the blasted JW marriage!

    Oddly enough, disfellowshipping wasn't considered in my case. That is probably due to the fact that most of the elders who sat in on that JC had watched me grow up in that hall...
