To me, tinnitus is like having a muzzled mosquito buzzing in your ear night and day.
I've had it now for 2 years after a .45 pistol was fired in my room. I've talked to the doc as it is very annoying, but he said there's nothing they can do short of surgery. I have no health insurance so that's not an option right now. I always have some sort of "noise" going so it isn't as noticeable. Otherwise, if you "tune in" to the buzzing it can drive you nuts.
I feel for anyone who is experiencing this.

Tap a crystal goblet with a spoon, then hold it up to your ear, as it fades to a certain pitch it freezes and stays there for the rest of your life.
