Most people who find JWs annoying would prefer a firmly closed door in response to their knocking rather than handing them something they - the houuseholders - know nothing about.
What if the JWs took the brochure, didn't read it but attempted to explain the teaching on 1914 to the householder. Now they've got a foot in the door. Or asked the householder to explain it to them. Duh!
You're plan has the virtue of being novel, but man,it's not well thought through from a practical perspective.
Develop a more clear target readership because it has the makings of an informative brochure.

@steve. Have any suggestions?
All id need to change is the text bits. I could make it entirely for the public. Have it explain how 1914 is derived and its significance to the religion and then all the debunking info.

I admire your desire to expose the falsehood of JW "religion", but I wonder if a Flyer based upon the awful Paedophile problem they have would not have a far greater effect with the Public.
Perhaps a good title would be "The Paedophile at your door !"

@phizzy
i plan on making flyers for various issues. That's one I plan to cover

Phizzy, "Perhaps a good title would be "The Paedophile at your door !""
Great idea! Such a flyer could be mass produced and distributed as part of a massive campaign. We could coordinate its release nationwide (Within at least four nations US, Canada, Britain and Australia) with the participation of perhaps a hundred of us apostates. If timed and coordinated right 1,000 of those flyers times 100 distributers would definitely make an impact and get on the media's radar.

@village
well I was just thinking I'd do a flyer on that next. I'll be sure to post a google docs link as well.

I like the well presented layout. I agree with what has been written that it is hard to pick the target audience, as it sounds to be aimed at non-JWs, but then includes information that they have no interest in and would not understand. It is even too in-depth for the average JW, who just accepts 1914 as true.
Village Idiots approach is great, 3 changes to the doctrine, as the doctrine becomes falsified by history. A more effective flier could take 1 page, outlining Village Idiot's points, plus the paragraph that 587 is accepted by virtually all experts in the field.

@everyone
ok I'm going to rework this thing over the weekend and follow all your suggestions, tailoring it for the public.
I'll post the updated version when it's finished. I really appreciate the feedback. hopefully I'll be able to put something useful together.

Hey Jonathan I accepted your invitation to provide you feedback on your brochure. Thanks for avknowledging my direct feedback.
You then asked me for suggestions - I'm not sure why you're asking me for suggestions.
It's your project, man.
My feedback stands:
Here's a summary of it: Clarify your intended readership, tailor the content of the brochure accordingly, aim for simpler, less technical content and simplify your method of reaching your intended readers (I.e., don't depend on a second, broadly disinterested party to give your brochure to the Witnesses).
That's very pointed feedback indeed. The rest is in your hands. Best.
