How often do you visit the grave site for your deceased Loved ones?

  As A ex- JW you would think most JWs would visit their

  love ones grave site often. Why, because of the belief

  they are resting, unconscious, waiting to be resurrected.

  They are just rotting bones in the ground, the part that

  makes us who we are is no longer there. For me I like to

  visit the place where their remains are located.

  My Father pass 1989, Mom 1992, both buried togather

  in A crypt. My two older brothers, (not JW,s) since my

  father died have placed fresh flowers each week on the

  crypt. And one of those brothers have also placed fresh

  flowers of his wife grave (she passed in 1987) each

  week since her death.

  My wife thinks it,s foolish, they are gone, dead. When I

  visit my folks grave site I feel A sense of closeness, I

  guess that what you would call it. Great parents.

  wha happened?

  I visit them on they day they left us. Birthdays, anniversaries, memorial day, (Dad is a vetaran), etc etc

  I feel totally the opposite of you, I think that would be the most depressing thing to visit the site of where your relatives are buried in the ground. I've never visited the gravesites of my parents are anyone else and have no desire to do so.

  I find it amazing that so many people do this, I've heard more than one person say that they have set up picnics near the sites of their loved ones, I didn't know cemetaries allow this, but I know for a fact that's what they told me, btw they're both Italian, is that a tradition?

  This is definitely an "to each his own issue" if you find comfort in doing that fine, I myself don't understand how that bring you comfort.

  I have this feeling, (we don,t know what happen to

  the dead) that some day They may return. I see

  my folks and they tell me, "your brothers came by

  each week, placed flowers. Where were you.

  The security of your parents never goes away. I feel that if I don't go, I'm forgetting them

  Wha happened: totally agree. I would love to see my

  family come togather (Jws, included) A day that we all

  gather in remembrance of our folks. I am sure there are

  some JW kin folks that have no idea where their great, great,

  great grandparents are buried.

  I can't remember exactly where my grandparents are buried. My dad was not buried so it would be kind of hard to visit.

  Never......even if a person believes in heaven or a paradise earth, the person is not there. Strangely enough, I convinced 4 of my older jw relatives to be cremated. They died in the last 3 years and had these arrangements followed to the constermation of other jws.

  That's my plan. I told my wife cremation. I haven't decided between Vegas or Venice beach in Cali

  Thoughtful question. We have a photo gallery in our hallway filled with family pictures so they never seem gone, I see them everyday.
