This thread is one of the biggest problems I had with the org. Since I was around 10yrs old I had trouble with these stupid 'experiences'. We also had the CO read them out to us about 6 yrs ago.

God helps them build KH's easily or cheaply but little 'unfaithful' children die everyday from starvation and disease?

There is no way God is doing anything for anyone IMHO. For some reason he is sitting back folding his arms and just watching it all play out down here.

The last bunch of stupid 'experiences' the CO gave us made me ask my parents why the poor little boy in Australia died on the way to the meeting when someone ran a red light, why didnt God keep the family home that night. Or the teenage boy in the UK had just finished witnessing and went to the shop for sweets on the way home when a car drove through the shop. Why couldnt god have kept him on that last door just 2 minutes longer. (Although having said that, he died because of his refusal of a blood transfusion).

There is NO WAY a loving God would be miraculously intervening in some situations to save time or money and not actually help someone about to die?

This site is so good to get a feel for what really stilll disturbs you about the org. I am really angry about this topic... Something I gonna need to work through.

btw.. my Dads excuse for this is.. time and unforseen occurences, if he saved everyone then JWs would be perfectly safe and everyone would want to join for the wrong reasons... Yeah I know.. OMFG. Their bizarre reasoning is crazy. Remove the tree but let the carload of pioneers die in a freak accident, yeah way to choose the better miracle to perform!!

My son's are friends with two really nice Mormon brothers. They told some of the same anecdotes we've all heard that were supposed to have happened to JW's only in their version it was God helping Mormons.

In Florida, a Hall building was delayed, because the basement hadn't been back filled and the brothers had no means to do so. While the
inspectors were at the site, a bulldozer showed up, did the job, and drove off. He told his boss he'd finished the job at the Hall. The boss replied,
"'Hall'!? I told you to go to the 'mall!'" The job was done at No expense to the brothers.

So god caused a miracle to happen so that this congregation could get free backfilling done. Yet god ignores the prayers of people who are sick and dying of cancer. No miracles for them. Or when a child is kidnapped, like Jaycee Dugard, and held prisoner for 18 years, being raped and abused. Throughout those 18 years, God ignored hundreds or even thousands of prayers from her devastated parents, and possibly prayers from her, to please help her get out and go back to her parents. He ignores millions... BILLIONS of prayers from people who have life-or-death problems that they're facing.

But the one prayer he answers is from a congregation in Florida who wants to get free backfilling done at their hall.

Yeah. Right. Uh huh.

If this were true and it actually WAS a case of god providing a miracle to this congregation, when he ignores the pleas of hundreds of millions of people worldwide, I would say: Fuck you, God. I hope you burn in hell.

OK, lemme see. We start a building and we run out of money before even the hole around the foundation is backfilled? Great planning, brothers!
