Bethel's gay Neighbors

I don't think I've ever seen the subject come up here
or on the old h2o site but many of you foreign types
may not be aware that Brookyln Bethel has been
situated in an agressively gay neighborhood ("Do you have the time?")
    for many decades.

Most dismissals at the big house for liking men have
been clearly internal to Bethel. However, we'll never
know how many Bethel boys succumbed to their repressed
leanings by going outside, in the Heights.

I do remember a very good Gilead/Primary instructor
(Brother W.) who got booted for getting some locally.

Anyhow, back years ago, when gays were totally repressed,
it was always amusing to see the shock of white bread
Iowa newboy types going from door to door and encountering
guys in blonde wigs, and other interesting attire as householders.

I think some took sisters along for protection!

What is an aggressively gay neighborhood?

Why do people immediately associate gays with blonde wigs and drag? I own neither a blonde wig or a single sequined dress or boa.

Men of all religions and occupations are known to get some man/man action on the side, not just Bethelites.

I agree with ya Joel! I run into the same problem! Everyone thinks that people that love their animals as a lover are sick! I hate stereotyping!!

Back then, I knew guys who would get accosted on the street
with great regularity. The standard line was "do you have the
time?". Thus, I refered to aggressiveness, in that neighborhood.

As for attire, I refered to actual experiences that shocked
boys from midwestern areas, at that time.

No stereotypes necessary - these things happened.

I haven't been to Bethel's gay neighbourhood, but I am a gay neighbour...nice to make your acquaintance...

    Joel,

    are you sure you're gay?

The second most used pickup line after "do you have the time" was..

"Is that a reasoning book in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

And I'm happy too! Although somedays I lean toward asexual...gay is a title that I think people "need" to define people like me. Why do you ask?

A similar situation occurred near London Bethel, where the nearest local bar (the Adam and Eve) became a gay bar.
Let's be honest, it was predominantly filled with men, all the time, anyway. No surprises what the attraction was.

    Hey KJV,

Sorry to hear your personality impediment has led to absolutely no success with those of your same species. Glad to know the German Shepherd bitch has, out of pity, become your sex surrogate. Maybe she can help you with your impotence.

    Yours truly,
    Pete

PS: Just between you and me, KJV, I hear your bitch is ready to run off with a Chihuahua -- seems she wants something with a bigger dick.
