I listened to a JW service today and there was 1 minute about the person that died and 40 minutes of sermon. Since I had to attend another recently, it was no different than the last. My kids agreed...why can't they talk more about the PERSON...their life. It was a madlib introduction: Name a dead person. How old are they? What cong. did they go to? Where did they work? Surviving family? Ok, preach the hell out of them now! That was all it was. Very disappointing. I have been to dinners where the person is talk about, remembered, funny stories...this made everyone feel good and remember the person. This is how I want my family to remember me...with humor and good times....not promised of the future that we never know will come and don't really help when you have lost a loved one...ask someone that is honest and they will tell you that all the promises of paradise mean nothing when your mate has died!
