Woman was created first! It's science.

    Woman was created first.

Every human being has 46 chromosomes arranged in 23 pairs, the first twenty two are autosomes, or matching, the twenty third pair matches in the female (xx), however, the male is mismatched (xy).

Notice what is missing from that second x? Yes, one of its ribs has been removed.

Clearly, in a female, since all are matching pairs, it makes sense that woman was created first as the male xy combination is the mutated pair. Why would God create the mismatched dna first? It just doesn't stand to reason.

Now think back into the creation account. Which gender would it make more sense to have taken the time to name the animals, plants, colors, etc.? Which one would have had the patience to do this without being preoccupied with sex?

Now think about the temptation in the Garden of Eden. Which gender would have been the one to seek power, the one that would have desired to be like God?

Perhaps Eve was created first. Adam wanted that dominant position, gave into temptation thinking he could have it and be like God. Adam then brought Eve along on this rebellion, that is why God said ... fine, that's how you want it, your craving will be for your husband.

Right off the bat, Adam blamed Eve for his sin. He started twisting things right away ... so today we have the twisted story that Adam came first and Eve sinned first because the male dominated and wrote the story (his)story, history!

The Bible tells us that "through one man sin entered into the world" ... that goes along with the ransom being a man as well. Some of the story had to remain accurate for continuity.

If men throughout history were anything like Jon Lovits, it could be possible ... or maybe not.

Sounds fair enough to me. Afterall Macedonia had a matriarchal system of governance and religion long before the Jews brought in theirs.Yes sorry blokes the women ran the show, and quite sucessfully too by the archeological account.

Just can't seem to recall why they say it all came tumbling down. No doubt there was a bloke involved........Alexander perhaps

Yep, that's how it happened.... God trusted men to write down the Bible accurately... She is gonna be pretty upset when She reads it, lol!

Since I no longer believe in God and creation, I must revise this to say that perhaps the female is the original of the species and the male at some point must have been a mutation.

is it true? why do men have one less rib??? I find that facinating.

We have the same number of ribs, but our genes don't. That's what wannabefree was saying.

The Eden story was presumably not trying to say something about male anatomy when Adam had a rib taken from him, but only about Adam's anatomy. In other words, it wasn't an explanation of why men have one less rib, but was just intended to show that Eve was made from Adam (which was the way a patriarchal society would prefer to think of things as having happened).

Wizard of Oz brought up an interesting point about society possibly being matriarchal at one time. Some culture's oldest stories sometimes paint women in a stronger light than the stories that came later. However, we're talking about a hypothetical time so far back that it's prehistoric, so we have no clear records or other evidence that women were ever in charge.

It is interesting to note here that our two closest relatives, chimps and bonobos, are patriarchal and matriarchal, respectively.

It's why men have nipples. What, did God make Adam first with useless nipples? Or does it make more sense that he inherited nipples from his female progenitor?

The Eden story was presumably not trying to say something about male anatomy when Adam had a rib taken from him, but only about Adam 's anatomy. In other words, it wasn't an explanation of why men have one less rib, but was just intended to show that Eve was made from Adam (which was the way a patriarchal society would prefer to think of things as having happened).

The book of Genesis clearly has the explaining of certain puzzling questions as one of its goals. Questions like why snakes crawl on their bellies, why women have painful childbirth, why rainbows appear, etc. It is an anatomical fact that men have one less rib or one short stubby rib (can't remember which it is, exactly). It is very likely that this fact came to the notice of the ancients and story about Eve being made from a rib of Adam is an attempt at explaining this particular oddity of the make skeletal anatomy. Even if it wasn't the main point of the text it was probably an intended secondary point. Think about it: The writer could have chosen any other part of the male anatomy for God to remove as tissue for creating Eve. Do you really think the writer just coincidentally happened to choose the rib which conveniently hints at an explanation for why men have one less rib or one short stubby rib?
