Catching the Manipulation in Sunday’s Watchtower Article

    These Watchtower articles blatantly hammer home a few points

    1. We are appointed by God's holy spirit - you are good sheep Do whatever we say, don't think, yes, don't use your brain, (sheep don't!!) ...otherwise, you are an arrogant sinner who must be annihilated by a big happy bolt of lightening at the Big A !

    2. Keep away from porn / apostate material that now is so easy to access from the horrid internet thing we can frighten into doing what we say; it's drawing you away - Satan draws you out away subtly a bit by bit, or do the elders push away slowly ..oopss

    3. Anything negative about life outside of Jehovah's Witnesses - exagerated - we are happy (Of course, we are! We just love being raped by elders, and getting told to shut up and stop being clever, and living in near poverty, so we can talk to people about the Bible, only for elders to push them away?! )

    4. Knock more doors - nothing else matters; just knock! Money will fall out the sky; Jehovah will pay all your bills, so "be like a good little kid and leave it to daddy" (the CO said that at pioneer school) - if you do find yourselves without food, unable to pay the rent, with a broken down car, blame Satan, but keep smiling like a good little boy while some rich elders ignore you

    Remember - if any thing happens:
    If it's good - praise Jehovah - If it's bad - blame Satan

    BUTTERFLYLEIA- Great thread ! Thanks for posting.

    I found this quote VERY controlling and revealing : " If a human overseer in God's organization provides you with instructions that seem extremely detailed, you might at times feel frustrated. " Then this, " Jehovah, however, is a perfect overseer, who delegates generously and trusts his servants. " Uh-huh. What happens though when these " servants " or elders give instructions that are absolutely insane even though very " detailed " ? Then what ? Does Jehovah still trust these elders if they give crappy advice , or their OWN opinions , not God's opinion ?

    God may trust these WT society appointed elders, but I don't ! Nor should anybody else who sees that these " elders " are just appointed by men by the WT society in order to control 7 million JW's. These men are appointed because they kiss the WT societys hind end very well- spiritual qualifications have nothing to do with it

    Feel sorry for me im trying to get back in and have to sit in the back row ( at least my sister sits with me) and stomach the WT week after week!

    For all you heathens who dont have to step foot in a KH i will tell you what i hate in the study.

    A drawing in the Watchtower is just that, a drawing. You should hear the crap people read into the drawing. It takes all my self control to not stand up and yell "its only a bloody drawing not a friggin photograph of Korah". Its sickening that they view these as inspired.

    Thankyou my Rant is done , and yes i agree with everyones comments above.

    @Azazel . . . I haven't been in a KH in 8 years . . . my heart bleeds for you. I can't imagine it happening, but if I ever went back it would be for some novelty value only. Welcome BTW.

    @Zid . . . you covered every thought I had about that article . . . the more subtle manipulation becomes even more obvious as time goes by and we learn more ourselves.

    If a Christian follows such a course, is he truly seeking to be known by Jehovah? How would Jehovah have felt if Abraham had become impatient about the fulfillment of God’s promises to him? What if Abraham had taken matters into his own hands . . .

    I love the way the WT writers will tell you "nobody can tell big J's mind" . . . "his ways are higher" bla bla . . . for one purpose, and then pretend to know what he likes and dislikes when it suits (above). The way they assume extreme authority on the one hand, will remaining totally free of responsibility on the other is so obvious now. I see that duplicity as the evil cancer that runs through that whole Org now. It gives them license to be extreme. It oozes out of their teaching articles.

    @Flip . . . spot on as usual.
