In 2007 I was waiting for the Elders to call back to see me and prove 1914 to me, I just could not see that it was in the Bible, 2520 days etc was just made up rubbish.

They did not call to defend the doctrine.

I stumbled across Greg Stafford's site "Elihu Books", as I was always interested in non-WT books about the Bible and thought maybe his site sold second hand books.

I was heartened to find someone who like me was a JW but just could not see the 1914 doctrine in scripture. There was either a link to JWD or some mention of it, so I slid across and read some stuff on here.

Frankly, I was shocked ! Not at the "Apostate Views" but at the level of disrespect shown to the WT, remember one of the first posters I encountered was WT Wizard, but that disrespect made me realise that there was much much more wrong with the WT than just its foundation doctrine being total bunkum.

I lurked for a short while, weeks, then I posted, then I walked away from the WT forever. I then was given advice, help and love on here that helped me through the trauma of having my whole world view change.

You guys are the greatest !

I was the infuriated ex-JW, that found out about the UN. I tried after being DF'ed that the true religion was as it said. I found out about the UN/NGO scandal and was really pissed off. I thought in my mind . . . Those dirty whores judge me, when they are full of more BS than I could create in a lifetime.

Still pissed, but time has passed.

I had just been disfellowshipped. By 3 men whom I didn't know and they didn't know me, in a city I had never been to the Kingdom Hall in. ( Search my story, if you're interested.....)

All I got was a phone call saying the decision was to DF me, and nothing else.

I wanted to know how to get reinstated. I went on the 'Net and came up with this site. Simon must have been on-line or something because I got in right away.

I was crying and upset. Jamie Bowers was one of the first to respond and immediately pm'ed me her phone number. I called her that night.

I will be forever grateful to Simon, Jamie and everyone else here who have supported and taught me so much.

Awesome story Oneday. I've been lurking for over a year & just made my first post yesterday. It's a bit of a novel so I won't repeat it here. I Called the title "Thanks Y'all" in order to thank all the cool people here whose posts I read that led me to shake off the cult.

Dang! I attended the convention last year & can only imagine how I would have reacted had I witnessed (LOL) such a scene. Thanks for the post.

OneDay - I loved your story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

6 years ago my cousin (Restrangled) told me about the web site Women Awake. It was a rather gentle and kind apostate site for JW women. When I was able to handle that I then moved on to Jehovahswitnessrecovery, I then graduated to this site and love it here.
