Why haven't more JWs noticed the WTS false prophecy?

I haven't found anything to show that they have, except in the Reasoning book, they admit say this:

"Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim to be inspired prophets. They have made mistakes. Like the apostles of Jesus Christ, they have at times had some wrong expectations.-Luke 19:11; Acts 1:6.

The Scriptures provide time elements related to Christ's presence, and Jehovah's Witnesses have studied these with keen interest. (Luke 21:24; Dan. 4:10-17) Jesus also described a many-featured sign that would tie in with the fulfillment of time prophecies to identify the generation that would live to see the end of Satan's wicked system of things. (Luke 21:7-36) Jehovah's Witnesses have pointed to evidence in fulfillment of this sign. It is true that the Witnesses have made mistakes in their understanding of what would occur at the end of certain time periods, but they have not made the mistake of losing faith or ceasing to be watchful as to fulfillment of Jehovah's purposes. They have continued to keep to the fore in their thinking the counsel given by Jesus: "Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming."-Matt. 24:42.

Matters on which corrections of viewpoint have been needed have been relatively minor when compared with the vital Bible truths that they have discerned and publicized. Among these are the following: Jehovah is the only true God. Jesus Christ is not part of a Trinitarian godhead but is the only-begotten Son of God. Redemption from sin is possible only through faith in Christ's ransom sacrifice. The holy spirit is not a person but is Jehovah's active force, and its fruitage must be evident in the lives of true worshipers. The human soul is not immortal, as the ancient pagans claimed; it dies, and the hope for future life is in the resurrection. God's permission of wickedness has been because of the issue of universal sovereignty. God's Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. Since 1914 we have been living in the last days of the global wicked system of things. Only 144,000 faithful Christians will be kings and priests with Christ in heaven, whereas the rest of obedient mankind will receive eternal life on a paradise earth."

Have you read Steve Hassan's first book?

The WT can tell its members ANYTHING, and more than 90% will follow.

Where else would they go? It's God's Organization.

For years every Awake stated that it is "The Creator's Promise" the the end will come while some of the persons that saw the events of 1914 are still alive.

So that's not just claiming to be a prophet, that's claiming to be God's prophet.

In 1995 when the WTS dropped that teaching some left, most didn't.

    Go figure.

    Peace

Interesting how they compare their prophetic "mistakes" to the false expectations of the apostles. The latter actually asked for clarification. The JW's on the other hand, present it as "current truth" which is not to be questioned. Totally false analogy.

They have continued to keep to the fore in their thinking the counsel given by Jesus: "Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming."-Matt. 24:42.

Really? . . . seems to me like they continually disregard Christ's counsel.

No mistake is "minor" when people stake thier lives on it.

http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/jehovahs-prophet.php ''IDENTIFYING THE"PROPHET" These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This "prophet" was not one man, but wasa body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses. ... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a"prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record.? Thus this group ofanointed followers of Jesus Christ, doing a work in Christendom paralleling Ezekiel's work among the Jews, were manifestly the modern-day Ezekiel, the"prophet" commissioned by Jehovah to declare the good news of God's Messianic kingdom and to give warning to Christendom." Watchtower 1972 Apr 1 pp.197-199 'They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them' '' ""All True Christians ARE Prophets. The New American Bible correctly states: "Prophet means 'one who speaks for another,' especially for God. It does not necessarily mean that he predicts the future!" ? You will be interested to learn that God has on earth a people, all of whom are prophets, or witnesses for God. In fact, they are known throughout the world as Jehovah's Witnesses." Awake! 1986 June 8 p. 9"

"Therefore, we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostles in Hebrews chapter 11, to the condition of human perfection." Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, pp. 89-90

"The date of Zedekiah's overthrow and the establishment of Nebuchadnezzar's Gentile dominion, which was the first Gentile world government, is definitely fixed both by secular history and in the scriptures as B.C. 606. (p.15)

"We, therefore assure the reader that we have no ulterior motive in putting out this message. It is not propaganda. There is no desire or effort to induce the reader to join anything..." (p.7)

"I would remind them [the clergy] that the commission given to all followers of Jesus is not to convert the world and bring them into some organized system." (p. 102)

They have made mistakes. Like the apostles of Jesus Christ, they have at times had some wrong expectations

So. The Apostles made mistakes? They went around prophecying 1975? The WTB$ is twisting the fact that they asked a simple question about when the end was in Luke. In Acts it doesn't even specify who asked the question, could have been someone in the crowd not even an apostle.

They make the claim that unlike 'other religions' they are 'awake' to the times................sorry I'm just of to be sick!!

'Expectations'..........so it's everyone else that's getting it wrong not the infallible holy WTB$ containing the 7 headed beast of the GB.

Sorry. The WTB$ DID prophecy, many times!
