    Good points highlighted here flipper

The scripture says quite plainly " THIS GENERATION"

    not these generations

    not overlapping generations

It`s ludicrous for the WT to state otherwise

sadly you really do have to question the intelligence of current witnesses who accept their explanation

Well put St. George of England ( and others )

St George of England said (and I think it bears repeating):

Why not let the Bible tell us how long a generation is:

(Matthew 1:17) 17 All the generations, then, from Abraham until David were fourteen generations, and from David until the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon until the Christ fourteen generations.

    So from Abraham to Jesus 3 x 14 generations = 42 generations.

Abraham born 2018 BC, Jesus born 2 BC so 2016 years = 42 generations

    2016 / 42 = 48 years per generation.

Don't the GB read the Bible any more?

SMIDDY- Very true. Jesus said " this generation " in the singular- not plural. JW's just don't get it because they are mind controlled and duped.

FAT FREEK- I don't think the GB reads the Bible any more ! I mean if they can't even accept that the Bible's view of generation is maximum 48 years - there is no hope of them changing their view of what constitutes a " generation ". WT society is more concerned with their OWN definitions of words than what words actually mean ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

i love the 48 years part. must pull that one out the next time!!!

  • flipper

WILDELOVER- I thought that scripture reference to the 48 years was pretty good as well ! It shows the WT society doesn't even view the Bible's definition of " generation " as accurate. They create their OWN definition of generation
