Yeah it gets old and annoying sometimes but it is what it is.

For what it's worth, I didn't quite "get" Shelby's posts when I first came here. And even now I'm sure her and I don't agree on everything concerning religious beliefs.
But I took the time to actually communicate with her and was shown more spiritual kindness and just basic human compassion than any JW ever showed me that I can remember. And that I can absolutely respect.

the way a person greet or say good bye to anyone doesn't
mean they are tryin' to covert you and unless one already
lack self esteem, it really shouldn't be veiwed as condesending

I can't stand the smarmy well-wishes of sanctimonious pseudo-spiritual people - be they Christians, Buddhists, Heathens/Pagans, or even Communists/Socialists...
It usually indicates an underlying, arrogant attitude wherein they believe that they are looking down on you from a great height... And can somehow help YOU to get past your 'inferiority'...
Which means that they've lost the ability to see our common humanity... (And lack a robust sense of humor, in my opinion...!!)
It may be a regional thing, as opposed to a gender thing, as I've noticed [being a prickly Westerner - NOT from Texas...] that Southerners appear to have a form of this behavior incorporated into their everyday language and behavior...

Come on people!
Who doesn't have the 'Aunt' or a friend of your mothers who is still into "Home Interior".
You walk into their home and it absolutely covered with decorative ornaments received from parties thrown
You think to yourself "So this is the person who keeps Home Interior in business"
The house is immaculate, but cluttered(border-line horder)
You conclude that it is a functional complusive disorder(the person has built a certain amount of esteem from being a home interior advocate).
I am blessed, to have an oppurtunity to learn from this behavior
