the sun of rightousness will certainly shine forth - Mal 4:2

and it got real dark as the Christ was dieing.

these two issues caught my attention.

i can't explain why mal 4:2 would kinda referance sun worship period. if it would have read "son" instead of "sun" the scripture would still make sense.

and as Christ(the son) died, so did the sun in the sky?

    what?

and what about the dark ages? Christ was hidden by the church....(stretching a bit on that one)

The sun dies every year on the winter soltice, three days later it moves one degree to the north and is "resurrected". This was celebrated when the sun finally overcame the dark on the vernal equinox, or passover.

The 3 signs of the zodiac leading up to the death of the sun are libra, scorpio and sagittarius. Libra weighs the sun, Jesus was put on trial. Scorpio is represented by a scorpion, Judas and his kiss of betrayal. Sagittarius is represented by an archer drawing back his bow, Jesus is finally put to death when the Roman soldier pierces his side.

The entire Bible is filled with astronomical allegories. Try out Job 38:31-41. A few references to the constellations.

The sun is a star that is powered by thermonuclear reactions.

The earth orbits the sun along with other planets.

That is all there is to it.

Jesus was just another sun-god. The sun was the first thing we worshipped, and it was the most useful thing we've ever worshipped, too. Except for penises and breasts.

    LOL!

Maybe this was so in the beginning, before humans. The life that we have bestowed upon the sun is very much a reality, especially if Sun Worship truly is what influenced Christianity and other modern Religions.

The sun is a symbol of the source of all. The source appears somewhat like an infinite ocean of light. The sun is like a miniature copy. Feel free to worship, if that is in your genes. On the other hand, if you wanna get enlightenment, you can experience the real thing, directly.

Another concurrence between the source and the sun, and stars generally, is that stars produce practically all matter. They are formed in hydrogen clouds and then through fusion, they form all the other elements. I like how astronomers describe their formation as birth in dense hydrogen gas nebulas. Stars go through a millions of yrs life time, then explode, broadcasting their created material into space, to be used/reused or drift, willie nillie, where it will.

Imo, the source has somewhat similar creative processes. For instance, it broadcasts randomly. This is somewhat all similar to brane (membrane) theory.
