    As far as I can remember, the prices were NORMALLY fair. It was hard though, because a bethelites wages are so little. I remember getting a frozen pack of "cordan bleu" and it was $2.50. While that may seem cheap, when you are only making $50 bucks a month (at least that is what I was making in 2001), and you have to pay $3.00 per meeting for your car ride plus toothpaste, deoderant, shaving cream, etc..., $2.50 is pretty expensive.

    Stipend was $90 when I was in 94-96. Paterson and farms people were pissed when brooklyn got an extra $5 due to a hike in subway fare.

    If not for the commissary, most of us would have starved. Supper at Bethel was awful, just awful.

    And the broke ones get stuck with gleaning.

    I was broke, too. I FINANCED the final 30 months of Bethel career. Had I left when the money ran out, I would have been a short-timer. I was also doing G-jobs with a significant number of my "vacation" days.
