My JW Neighbor Died

Why weren't her brother and sister JWs helping her?

Because you can't count those hours.

Despite all of Jesus' teachings about serving others, helping widows and orphans, the poor and disabled, means nothing to the WTS.

    Too this-worldly... too this-system.

Better to be placing magazines and hearing the same messages over and over at the KH.

And thinking about petting lions in the new system...

... which is just around the corner.

My mom is saying she will refuse all medical treatment if something goes wrong. OTOH, she has rushed herself to the ER when she thought she had the flu and didn't want to die. Odd. She as talked numerous times of seeing her old relatives in the NS. She firmly believes she will just die and wake up new, young and, oh, I guess about age 35. C-R-A-Z-Y.

BTW, the old relatives she talks about all rejected the JWs and wanted nothing to do with them. Did I mention C-R-A-Z-Y?

    Oh, and C-U-L-T.

    <sigh>

I wish someone would mow my grass.

Yeah, if you're mowing my grass or whatever you can say absolutely anything you want and I'm cool with it.

Some people are very comfortable being bitter and ugly. The JW cult encourages a judgemental frame of mind that finds fault with just about everyone and everything. As a life strategy for some people, JW or not, it has it's advantages.

You never have to face your own guilt because there is always someone or something to lay it off on. Better to point out the speck in anothers eye than to deal with the rafter in ones own eye. After years of this one attains a self image of unappreciated perfection.

My neighbor is an ex-JW, and I would often visit his home and mow his yard for him, out of the pure love of Christ that I have for him and out of a sincere desire to serve him and our awesome God!

Everybody has an ax to grind. No offense, but I wouldn't give you .25 cents for a truckload of Mormons.

Uh, shouldn't you be doing geneology work right now? You have dead ancestors who you need to find and do a proxy baptism for them.

Witnessforjesus has posted a pitch for Mormonism on a couple of threads.

"As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man may become..." isn't likely to appeal to a group of ex-JWs...
