I accept the story as being plausable enough.
If Shadow Jnr is reading this - please please please continue your education. Over 20 years ago I could have gone to uni - but didn't becos of what the WTS told us. Even if I had been "defiant" and went anyway, I wouldn't have had any support from my family.
Yet here is your Dad saying he will support you in your studies - so go for it! You are sooooo lucky not to be in the situation I and hundreds of thousands of other young JWs have been in - the chance to go, but not being allowed to further our education.
If your Dad is sanctioned by the other elders for you going to college - so be it. Maybe that will be the wake-up call the rest of your family needs.
