Wow, that looks good too. Yeah, I don't think I'll be eating soup today. I've got plenty of options where I'm situated, and I'm looking to take advantage of them.

I know about everything you listed except tobacco.

    AGuest/Shelby knows about the 'bacca.

I started picking cotton alongside my mother in 1959, at the age of 5.

The last I picked was in 1968 at the age of 14; I needed money for a Home Economics fee.

Hey Snow How you this mornin'

that's my usual way of greetin' In my parts of the state

back in the day, it was Flue Cured tobacco , soybeans and corn

that was the main crop of many farmers 'round here

and yes most of the money I made went for school supplies

back then you had less kids roamin' the streets cause they were

kept busy doin' somethin' that could benefit them and help out

    the parents.

    Right you are, Was.

Top of the mornin' to you, also.

I was so touched by the report on CBS that Martin Luther King, Jr. used to go to Connecticut during the summers to work in the tobacco fields.

It would be good if these blisters of nowadays would do something similar.

I should have read that piece on Martin Luther King

but that's alright If I keep hangin' 'round you I'll learn

somethin' eventually. You are a Smart one, that's where

Hehe. I'm not so smart that I wasn't hoodwinked by the JW's.

My daughter likes her new job - has already been promoted!

The only drawback is that she plans on scaling back her hours so that, come September, she can pioneer!

I can't dissuade her, her dad can't, so we've shut our mouths.

MsDucky has brilliant twin daughters who have done basically the same, so I at least have someone with whom I can commiserate.

How's your daughter doing; she's a smart cookie, also!

I really like ground turkey. I made a creamy turkey fettucine a couple of times - though I expect that the amount of sour cream I put in there zeros out the health benefit of the turkey ;)
