Why are witnesses being "Persecuted" in certain countries?

for the most part this "persecution" is confined to countries where political balance can change on the drop of a dime. watchtower witnesses who go door to door will speak of their religious views which include not voting or supporting the political parties. where the watchtower control a percentage of the population through their kingdom halls and they turn people off from voting they have in effect formed their own type of independant political organization. being in a country where freedom and expression of speach can land you in prison or dead, the watchtower has effectively "opened the door" so to speak on being persecuted. (like being driven out and having their homes and halls burnt down) i am in no way condoning these acts, but if you want to play "control the masses" with the "big boys" so to speak, then i guess it comes with the territory. if a citizen is not voting, it means hes not voting to keep the current party in power. as the witnesses grow in that country, the voting pool effectively declines as jws dont vote. who would run the country if they were all jws. control the people and you control the country. this is considered a political threat. dont forget to "vote watchtower" at the upcoming elections!!

JWs also get persecuted because we expose wide open Biblical teachings which contradict the ways in which prevalent religions operate in those countries.

In Mexico it was quite the uphill battle for many years because we exposed the lies of the Catholic church there. Then it was war against the JWs! As an Organization, though, we don't back down. Now in Mexico we sit as the #2 religious establishment. What a terrific victory!

Its the basic premise of Christianity which involves conversion, and the theme that this world is coming to an end, which any bright government official readily gets as speaking about the end of their government. Then the smooth over talk begins. The double-tongue messages constantly need to be reframed to keep a missionary home on good standing with a country.

Do you remember the Experience of the Russian Witness who was visited in prison by one of the Premier's and asked what was going to happen to the USSR and he replys- It will be a Paradise, its that type of obfuscation that eventually gets found out.
