Interesting observation Satanus. That year was a turning point for me, 1970 came along and seemed different, 1969 closed out an era in general. The overall mood of society changed. Things went in a new direction. Haven't thought about that in years.

These days, they have a problem getting the dubbies to attend the Fridays of a three-day convention; they wouldn't dare attempt an eight day assembly again.

Room215- I agree. they could not get the witnesses to attend a 7 or 8 day convention again. Or even 5. I would not be surprised in the 3 day conventions go to 2 and a half and then just 2 days.

    1969, or there abouts:

    rock and roll peaked,

power and style of cars peaked,

    psychedelic drug culture peaked,

wt output of creative bs peaked,

    possibly, antiwar protests peaked.

    Some thoughts on 1969.

In 1969 I was 12 years old. Besides going to Kansas City to the convention my mother went to Europe on a society tour going to conventions in various cities. I remember rushing back from KC so that she could get back to the airport in time for her trip to Europe.
