I was able to learn about other cultures than my own. That could have happened at any decent church, however. That has been a huge help b/c there were many people I became friends with that under ordinary circumstances -I would have never met. I am grateful for that.
We ( all) also learned public speaking and that has been of great benefit to me. I am not sure I could have learned that in just any chruch, but I do thank them for that.
