I've attended two JW funerals recently.
It really boils my blood. It is naked opportunism and raw trolling on the part of the brothers when they launch into a recruiting speech instead
of honoring wholely the person who has died.
The phoney cheer and stiff upper lip attitude is, frankly, disrespectful to those who are grieving. It puts a further burden on them not to let their honest emotions pour out at what should be THE VERY VENUE IN WHICH YOU ARE ALLOWED TO FEEL something in public!!
Most Christian funerals I've been to reeked of a phony piety and formalism. Eulogies sometimes come off as roasts.
Pity that.
