Do you still refer to them as "us" or "them"?
To me they are definitely "them".
When talking to JW's about Witnesses ................

I'd love to be able to say, "they were" instead of "they are".

I definitely refer to witnesses as " them " or " those " or " they " believe such and such. Been out 7 years- took me a couple years to change my language use do to influence cult mind control had on me

Its without doubt "them" in my conversation and my mind.
I can see my close family flinch when I say "You JW's ......" , it lets them know I am no part of their lunacy, and am never going back
