    Hello, All -

It's just past the one year anniversary of my nephew's suicide. He hanged himself last year at age 19. His mother, my sister-in-law, found him. I can't sleep for thinking of him.

I always imagine that this music, Barber's Adagio for Strings, is what it sounds like when your heart is breaking.

Nothing else to say, except I'm so sorry.

    Strength and peace to you,

I'm very sorry, StAnn. This sorrow is not so very far from my own "home."

Mood music that inspires, calms, grounds me is the so-called slow music for fast times: Hearts of Space. They have an entire hour program devoted to some half-dozen versions of the masterpiece, Adagio for Strings.

    Love,

Thanks, all. Just in case you're not depressed enough.... Here's the song my daddy used to sing to me at night when he put me to bed. It's the first real song my mother taught me to play on piano. Long, long ago. And now they act like they don't even know me.

Sad time of the year for me as well.

If someone could post "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, I'd appreciate it.

My babiest brother Mike was killed 11 years ago today. The brakes went out on the truck he was driving on a mountain road in Utah. He was 31. Married for less than a month and on the job for a week. Left 3 boys behind.

They played this song at his funeral, one of his favorites. I listen to it on this day every single year. I miss him.

Since we're talking about it, I don't usually like country music but this song always makes me think about my grandmother who died nine years ago this May. I didn't know she was dying and didn't get to say goodbye:
