Does anyone have any really cool stories about fights, arguments or anything else controversial that happened at the KH or a book study? The reason I ask is that what happened to Danni and her partner will be talked about for ages at that particular hall. When I was about 16 I once saw 2 brothers arguing over who would take the service group that weekend. The whole congregation was about as quiet as a mouse pissing on a cottonball! It was so cool! These 2 dinks were yelling back and forth at each other and I`m sure alot us were hoping for a fist fight. It ended when the one "brother"(Man! do I hate using that term!) dropped his microphone on the floor and walked out.The elder that this dude was arguing with was on stage at the time and gave some lame excuse about unity and blahblahblah.I also saw a elder so drunk one time that he had to cancel giving a talk and he was at the MEETING!!!A few too many for the nerves you say? No he was just a drunk and everyone knew it.There has to be a few good stories out there....

During a public talk a few years back, a "sister"(Oh those smart, outspoken sisters that don't know their place, LOL!) was talking to an elder and another older sister in the back room. Suddenly we all heard yelling during the talk. Most in the Hall turned their heads to see wassup. Suddenly all three burst out of the room, yelling at each other. All I could hear was the young "don't know her place sister" saying "this isn't the truth, this isn't the truth!

Needless to say we were all riveted until sister "don't know her place" ran out of the hall, never to be seen again. Personally, my heart was pounding, wondering what had been discussed in the back room. Alas, we never found out. Guess they were afraid of everyone else running out, too.

    Waygooder,
    Welcome!

The cong I grew up in, there were a lot of us young pioneers. Everytime we would show up for service, an older brother, the type who liked to lord it over everyone with his little bit of authority, would arrive a half hour early and sit at the table so he could conduct the service meeting.

It became an unspoken war, whoever could get to the hall the earliest would lead the group in service that day.

    Talk about a pissing match!

The young brothers would show up as early as 7 am for a 9 am field service meeting, LOL. They would prepare their meeting parts or some other boring thing, just to be there early.

    Thanks for the hysterical memory.

At my hall, this guy was in love with another sister who was a neighbor of mine. We'll call the guy Jim and the sister Candy. Jim was a vietnam vet and had some mental problems. Needless to say, he was heavily medicated. Apparently, Jim asked Candy on a date several times and she refused. Then Jim found out that Candy was beginning to date some other brother. I think Jim went crazy after that. He came to a meeting and just started shouting nonsense stuff in the middle of talks. The brothers wanted to escort him out, but he was as big as a bear and violent. We had to wait until Jim calmed down enough to be led out. It was very odd and that in my opinion was the best meeting ever.
Also, once at a book study, my mom's study brought her boyfriend to the study. The study was held at our house, which made what happened all the better. They boyfriend started arguing doctrinal ideas with the conductor in the middle of our study. Then he pulled out a paper bag and a lunch out of it, like he was gonna start eating right there in the middle of the book study. He raised his hand and asked if anyone minded. My mom, of course, said "Yes, I mind if you eat in my living room." The conductor also objected. That was great.

Years ago, an MS was leading a group out in service from the KH library. The sisters seemed to be in some diagreement with him over the groupings and arrangements. He said, 'fine, then make your own arrangements', and walked out.

A few years later this same MS made the local papers. I'm not sure of the details, but it involved a shouting match and a violent outbreak at home involving his step-child. He was removed as an MS.

There was a controversy. You know the kind. When it is time for the meeting to divide up so everyone can give talks. I was giving a talk that night and another brother was my householder. WE all know that is not allowed in the hall. Anyway everyone knew I was not ordinary to begin with. The brother counciled me on my talk and gave me a work on it. Oh yeah right! I knew this brother very well. He was a good friend of the family and I was so upset. I blurted out, that is not fair, you know how hard I worked on this talk. We started argueing back and forth during the meeting. The brother who had been my householder turned all shades of red. Oh yeah...Ricky told me sister we will discuss it after the meeting tonight, Ok. Everyone was laughing as Ricky was now all flustered.
Later he explained that I was not allowed to use brothers in the presentation. I took the grade W and said Ok.
Yep, nothing like a good discussion to get the brothers flustered.

We had some tramps come to the sunday meeting once.
They sat on the front row and talked loudly to each other for the first five minutes. Then they got their sandwiches out at which point the speaker stopped his talk and ask for them to be removed.
the tramps told him to F*#% off.
In came the MS's to escourt them out one walked out on his own but the other wasn't going and punched one of the attendants to the floor.

Another time in the book study in an answer to a question in the reveltion book a sister said " president clinton , what a dick head"
The study carried on like nothing happened.
Oh yes and there was a study who answers "I wish hitler was dead".

Well I personally have had this kind of meeting with elders once back in the late 1970's in my own congregation and it led me to leaving. In short, I presented documented evidence from the local college library about the problems of mental illeness among Jehovah's Witnesses after the prophetic disconfirmation of 1975. The elders took my material prior to the meeting with them to look it over and at the meeting a few days later told me that they went to the library and destroyed the references and also destroyed my papers and asked me to surrender any notes I had on my research.

Their arguement was that what I had discovered would stumble many and that they could not sit back and let this happen and that it was a case of the ends justifying the means to vandilze the library books so that nobody else can be hurt by it. This got us in a huge shouting match and they ended up telling me the scripture where it is better to tie a millstone around your own neck and drown yourself than to stumble your brother. I had one more confrontation with them after that which led to a letter from the Soceity banning me from even entering any Kingdom Halls.

Oh, and I did check to see if they did destroy the books, and yes they did, as I had listed the references in my paper to the elders. I was so pissed I told the librarian about it and she informed me they already knew they had a problem with Jehovah's Witnesses damaging their own WTS publications but this had been a first for other books.

    The bloody hypocrites.
