Just a simple question this time. Say a special pioneer came to town, and I gave him a place to stay at home. Would I get anything from it, in terms of privileges or the like?
Thank you.

Yes, you would be given the privilege of being spied on 24/7.
Depends on your specific elder body and the CO at the time. It could also depend on how popular or "powerful" the special pioneer might be.
So, if he were powerful and popular, being spied on 24/7 could eventually work to your advantage?
Yes, there are always spies everywhere. You learn how to hide your secrets. Every married jw has at least one 24/7 spy, their spouse, and they manage to keep things private.
Blondie, I don't doubt that is the case. It's just sad to me, then, that you can't even get to trust the person you sleep with.
Having a special pioneer in your home is a privilege already.
In a religious community like the JW's, you can get praise from others. You can get jealousy from some, also. The C.O. and the elders look for the bootlickers to extend further privileges to. That means you might get more of the same- being asked to put the C.O. and Mrs. C.O. in your home, but it could also lead to an interview at the assembly where you can tell others that it was a great privilege in itself to put the brother/sister up in your home. Of course, brothers have greater privileges when they kiss ass/lick boots. Besides advancement, they can also be asked for further ass-kissing assignments.
I see. So in the end you can even suspect that the home isn't being offered out of kindness only.
One never knows what one would do under certain circumstances, but, if I had ever been a special pioneer, that alone would make me refuse any offer to stay in anybody's home.

At the assembly yesterday, a brother came up to me and I said "Hey John, how you doing?". He said "I'd be a whole lot better if I could find some more volunteers to vacumn after the session." .....looooong pause...... Me: "Good luck with that. See you later."
How come I ain't no elder yet?
You would have the privilege of getting preached to about pioneering and full time service.
