Five bucks says on the Technology symposium they mention Internet Porn 5-7 times. I would really like to take the weekends the city conventions are in then look at my company stats and see if there is a jump in porn viewing. I'm sure my bosses will be shaking in their boots if they mention how horrible porn is.

"in fact not a jw...and not an unbaptized publisher"

Sweet, if the above is true, then that would be why your perception of the JW experience is so different from everyone else. Exactly what was or is your relationship to the JW religion, from where are you getting your "facts"?

Just for fun, let's take the flood story as told in Genesis and the JW interpretation thereof absolutely literally.

    Prior to the flood:

    A. The Garden of Eden still exists.

    B. The Tree of Life still exists.

    C. Two angels are standing at the entrance of the garden blocking it with a flaming sword.

    D. Everyone speaks one language and lives in a relatively small area.

    E. Angels have materialized bodies for themselves, taken human women as wives and produced a race of giants.

    F. These giants apparently have superhuman strength.

    G. They fill the world with a violence heretofore unknown.

Given that scenario, if a preacher of righteousness stands up and proclaims a warning of Divine judgement, I would say that there would be plenty of good reason to take him seriously. Evidence of the supernatural would be all around you. You could go see the entrance to Eden and see angels with your own eyes if you doubted. There would be direct, observable, empiric evidence.

Is that the situation we have today, or has God been so quiet for so long that many rational, sincere people doubt his existence? Can you see angels today? Where are they at? Can you see the Garden of Eden today? Show me please. Do the offspring of angels and women walk the earth today? Where can I find them?

Other than the fact that it is fictitious, there is a big difference between the flood story and our time. It's called evidence.

In 'pre-history' (if there is such a thing) there where many very large floods, that covoured the known world... It usually was the nile, it had to on a yearly basis to take the soot and nurishing nutriants to the plants and earth/sand above and around the bank of the river... Probably happened to the euphrates and other close rivers too...

It's not hard then to imagine where this idea came from about a complete global flood...

    Sweet said:

"people marrying and having children...drinking...they had laws in which not obeyed went to jail/prison....they had records...musical instruments..."

    "they had records" ???????

    33, 45 or 78 RPM?

    Just messin' with you Sweet.

Lots of good food for thought on this thread if you're willing to consider it openly.

Looks like any convention program from the past.

Oh, I am so not going this year. Actually, the convention last year brought me to this site, because I was so depressed after the convention. It's exhausting, expensive, tiring, boring, lonely time for me. I'll just pretend I'm attending another week and no one at my hall will be the wiser. I am quite invisible there anyway. I've missed so many meetings, and no phone calls or questions, which is good. Fading is going to be easy for me. Family is the only obstacle now. Sorry, this thread reminded me of how miserable I was at the convention last year.
