Poutine is a sloppy plate of delicious french fries smothered in gravy and topped with cheese curds. Unless the gravy is right, the poutine isn't good and any other kind of cheese is unacceptable.
Serving this down South could possibly result in a fine.

As a Chicago native VIII captured a lot.
Here are few other things:
The first warm day in spring, our short range gardens that include tulips, poppies, and beautiful exotic irises. Pussy willows and oh the joy of sweet Lilacs.
We love the first bar-b-que, the first day you can wear shorts, drag out the deck furniture, and open all the windows to air out the house from winter.
We love our beautiful (ugly) tomatoes. Fireflies, and summer "fests" down at Lake shore Drive.
The sweet soft grass that only grows in the North, not the stuff, I still consider crab grass in Florida. It's grass you can roll in, take a nap on, and never have one insect bite your butt.
Long summer nights, that are so precious.

The first Italian sausage, steaks, and hamburgers on the grill . The smell and sound of first cut grass.
Northerners also tend to take better care of their yards and homes than do southerners.
Since I've been in Florida I am shocked at how people let their yards and homes go "to the dogs" That never happened in your average neighborhood in Chitown.
